fearless: the third decade

In bits & pieces, kindred on October 11, 2010 by carinasuyin

A scrumptious chocolate banana cake from awfullychocolate arrived today, commissioned all the way from Brisbane, Australia! Love you lots, The Other Sheepgirl, thank youuu!!!

We are 21! What discounted age are you taking abt? Pffffft πŸ˜›” Haaa yes, much of those halcyon days as an undergraduate are still recalled with joy. It had felt momentous to turn 21 in the last year of the second millennium with all of one’s trepidation, hopes and excitement echoed and shared by the entire world. Drama.

Ten years later, numerous adventures have since surpassed that milestone and lend gravity to an otherwise insignificant narrative, even as they begin to sketch new lines onto an ageing mien… There’s something warmly assuring in the way that this beginning of the third decade misses not the youthful celebrations but acknowledges the calmness and sovereignty of being happy, no matter what age I may be. Turning 31 is magic, blissfully and surprisingly so…
